School Vacation Children’s Programs:
Monday, February 20, Abraham Lincoln Remembered
Celebrate President’s Day while learning about the route of Lincoln’s famous whistle-stop train trip that brought him to Washington, D.C. in 1861 to take the presidential oath of office. Families use “travel cards” to explore events that took place during the trip, including the role of famous 19th-century American detective Allan Pinkerton. Includes an art activity featuring images and quotes of the beloved former president.
Session times: 10:00am-11:30am, 1:00-2:30pm; 3:30-5:00pm.
Recommended for children 7 to 12 years old. Pre-registration is required. Cost: $6 per child (museum members) and $8 per child (non-members). Accompanying adult FREE.
Sunday, March 5, Storytelling of Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp from The Arabian Nights
Time: 2:00-4:00pm. Pre-registration required. FREE with Museum Admission and to members.
Tuesday, April 11, Arabian Nights Workshop
Sessions from 10am-12pm or 1-3pm. Recommended for children 7-12 years old. Members FREE. $6 Non-members. FREE for accompanying adults.
