Like most cultural institutions, Macculloch Hall owes a great deal to the many individuals, organizations and corporations who support us and the work we do.  Without the time and resources that our Members and Volunteers provide, Macculloch Hall would not be one of New Jersey's finest Museums.  Please consider joining us as a Member and as a volunteer.

b Volunteer Opportunities a

With more than 7,000 visitors a year coming to Macculloch Hall for tours, exhibits, school programs and special events, volunteers are an essential part of all Museum activities.  Whether it's acting as hostess at a Garden event, researching objects in the collection or guiding visitors on tours of the house, volunteering at Macculloch Hall can be a fun and rewarding experience.  Hours are flexible and training is provided.  If you have an interest in local history, antiques, heirloom gardens, decorative arts or historic houses, we have a job for you.

 Volunteer Positions

Touring Docent Amidst beautiful and important furnishings, share with visitors the story of one of New Jersey's most distinguished families.  Our docents are at the heart of Macculloch Hall's success.
Welcome Desk A smile, pleasant "hello" and a sense of hospitality is all it takes to make our visitors feel welcome.  Responsibilities include handling admissions fees, coordinating tours and providing general information.
Educator Act as tour guide, program leader and activity instructor for specialized educational programs.  Work with young people from area schools, scout troops and daycare centers---pre-K through 5th grade.
Special Events Known for gracious hospitality since 1810, Macculloch Hall volunteers continue this tradition during receptions, exhibit openings and annual events.  Opportunities include greeting guests and monitoring period rooms.
Garden Volunteer If heirloom gardens pique your interest, Macculloch Hall has the oldest gardens in Morris County.  Volunteers often assist with general maintenance or undertake garden projects under the direction of Macculloch Hall's Garden Committee.
Curatorial Volunteer For the hands-on historian---work on specialized projects of research, cataloging and collections care under the direction of the Curator of Collections.
Archive Volunteer Dedicated volunteers assist the Museum archivist with the meticulous maintenance and research of family records.
